Axiom has engaged Mr. Wynn to advise on geophysical methods applicable to the company's project areas and supervise the planning, implementation and interpretation of the geophysical surveys.

Dr Roger G Taylor

Dr Roger G Taylor was formerly Associate Professor of Economic Geology at James Cook University where he held the position of Director of the Economic Geology Research Unit as well as co-founding and co-ordinating the applied MSc degree in Mining and Mineral Exploration. In more recent times he has been a full time consultant with numerous international assignments contracted via many major mining groups (BHP, Rio Tinto, Codelco, Freeport, CVRD, and Ivanhoe Mines, working in various locations - Escondida (Chile), Grasberg (Indonesia), Oyu Tolgoi (Mongolia), Carrajas (Brazil) .

He has wide experience having also worked in his early days as a mine, open cut, and exploration geologist. Areas of specialist expertise include : magmatic-related Sn W Cu Au and Ag deposits (porphyry copper, iron-oxide copper gold, epithermal high and low sulphidation goldsilver, intrusion related gold styles, skarns - copper, tin, tungsten, gold and all types of tin and tungsten occurrence).

In combination with Dr Peter Pollard, he has presented professional short courses in most of these subjects, and is also acknowledged as a specialist in ore textures (5 books), breccias, and gossans - leached cappings. He has published over 40 scientific research articles and a reference text entitled 'Geology of Tin Deposits'.

Dr Bill Laing
Dr Bill Laing has enjoyed two decades taking his international skills as a structural geologist with 20 research publications in journals and books, into the exploration and mining industry. Here he has developed a comprehensive suite of strategies - the Laing Toolbox - which expand conventional techniques and provide new techniques; for analysing ore systems, locating ore deposits in drillcore, and smart mapping ore systems. He has consulted on 108 ore deposits on all continents, and delivered 69 courses world-wide to 1060 geologists on the Laing Toolbox. This includes the revolutionary tools of niche analysis, stockwork analysis, metasomatic facies, architectural templates, and the data gap, among others.

His techniques span all commodities, and he has consulted on oil and coal as well as most metalliferous ore deposit types. His consultancies include 63 gold-only deposits and 37 base metal deposits. His 87 clients include BHP Billiton, Shell, Placer Dome, Cominco, Newmont, Cameco, CRA, Rio Tinto, Zinifex, Western Mining, Newcrest, Anglogold, Oxiana, Xstrata, Normandy, Iscor, Rothschilds, and the Geological Surveys of NSW, Victoria, South Australia, and Northern Territory. The 108 ore deposits include Boddington, Century, Broken Hill, Mount Isa, Prominent Hill, Ernest Henry, Osborne, Rosh Pinah, Cadia, Pine Creek, Athabasca, Bendigo, Ballarat, Getchell, Cerro Negro, Telfer, and the Elk oilfield in PNG.

He has a book in press "Structural geology and ore-finding in drillcore" and has contributed two new clauses to the world benchmark JORC Code 2004. He has co-designed and marketed the highly successful Drillcore Orienting Kit with over 200 kits sold including 35 exports to 13 countries. At James Cook University he co-presented the international Masters Degree in Exploration and Mining Geology. He has personal entries in Who's Who of Asia and the Pacific and 3500 Australian Men and Women of Science, Engineering & Technology (Australian Academy of Science). He is a Fellow of 3 professional societies including the Society of Economic Geologists.

Bill Laing has consulted on 28 world-class ore deposits. His work has directly led to major resource additions in 11 of these, and the discovery of a multi-billion dollars worth of gold and base metal resources.
